Part of the strength of Reyes’s production lies essentially in his intrinsic ambivalence. The struggle of opposites, the confrontation of opposing binomials, as well as the exploration of boundaries constitute an important part of the ideology of an artist who invites us to travel where ideas germinate and axioms do not exist.
Safety gathers buckles and harnesses, objects traditionally associated with solidity and firmness that, transformed into a kind of ball, hang defenseless under a threatening fire. Safety questions not only our own idea of stability, but goes one step further and forces us to define our position in the world.
